Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in St. Cloud, MN is hiring experienced Locum Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday (8am-8pm).

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will assist with anesthesia, triage, radiography, vital signs monitoring, CPR readiness, and venous access, while mentoring teammates and supporting client care.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician in an emergency/critical care setting.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and monitor vitals.
• Proficiency in radiography and phlebotomy.
• Strong client communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Triage and monitor emergency patients including vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with correct technique.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs; alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Perform CPR when needed and manage access to IV catheters.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in St. Cloud, MN is hiring experienced Locum Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday (8am-8pm)

As An Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.


• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.


• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.


• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.


• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.


• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.


• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.


• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.


• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.


• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.


• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
