Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Surgery Trauma physician in Bellingham, WA. The position involves performing a broad range of general and trauma surgeries, with on-call duties and a 12-hour shift schedule (19:00–07:00) during a 13-week assignment.

The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO, complete a surgery residency (ACGME/AOA), be ABS-board certified, possess an active Washington medical license, and have ACLS certification plus clinical experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Residency training in surgery (ACGME or AOA)
• Board certification in surgery (ABS) and active WA license
• ACLS certification is required

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of general and trauma surgeries including emergency cases
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on patient care plans
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries and trauma cases
• Provide patient and colleague consultations on surgical options
• Educate patients on postoperative care and follow-up
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and records
