Job summary

Palm Careers seeks a locum trauma nurse practitioner or physician assistant to head up care in Billings, MT through December 2025. Start ASAP with 12s or 24s shifts in a well-supported team environment.

Responsibilities include managing admitted trauma patients, daily rounds with the surgeon, progress notes, diagnostics monitoring, and collaboration with other specialties. 1099 compensation, travel, lodging, and flights provided.

Qualifications

• Active BLS, PALS and ACLS certification required.
• Experience in trauma-critical care settings preferred.
• Ability to manage high-acuity trauma patients and document care.

Responsibilities

• Manage admitted trauma patients and coordinate care with the trauma team.
• Round daily with the surgeon and document progress notes.
• Monitor diagnostics and respond to RN calls/pages promptly.
• Collaborate with other specialties as needed for patient care.
• Participate in transition planning and handoff at shift end.

Job description

We are hiring for a 5-6 month locum trauma critical care nurse practitioner or physician assistant to head up to Billings, Montana through the end of December 2025! Come work with a great team of providers, RNs, and support team during their peak summer season and then into the winter months while taking advantage of all that Montana and its surrounding offer. In this role you will manage admitted trauma patients, round daily with surgeon, write progress notes, monitor diagnostics, answer calls/pages from RN, collaborate with other specialties as needed.

Start: ASAP

End: December 2025

Shifts: Open to 12s or 24s! In House Call Room, fully "loaded" for you!

Requirements: BLS/PALS/ACLS

Preferred: Montana Licensed / ATLS

Census: 8-10 daily
