Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Alpena, MI is seeking an experienced OB/GYN physician to join our obstetrics and gynecology team for high-volume clinical care, deliveries and surgeries. The role requires Board Certified or Board Eligible within the last 5 years, Michigan license preferred, and credentialing with ACLS, BLS and PALS; case logs for 50 deliveries and 25 GYN procedures are expected.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within the last 5 years.
• 50 deliveries and 25 GYN procedures case logs required in last 12 months.
• Michigan license preferred; IMLC acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures as listed (Suction D&C, Laparoscopy).
• Interpret NSTs and manage deliveries.
• Provide patient-centered obstetric and gynecologic care.

Alpena 24-Hour Call Schedule:

• 10/15 @ 0700 – 10/17 @ 0700
• 10/20 @ 0700 – 10/21 @ 0700
• 12/4 @ 0700 – 12/8 @ 0700
• 12/10 @ 0700 – 12/11 @ 0700
• 12/14 @ 0700 – 12/15 @ 0700
• 12/21 @ 0700 – 12/23 @ 0700
• 12/24 @ 0700 – 12/30 @ 0700 (includes Christmas Day)

Clinic Operations:

• Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 0730-1630; Friday, 0730-1200.
• Patient Volume: 2 patients per hour, contingent upon appointment length.
• Staffing: 3 nurses per shift along with a midwife (starting September) to support call.

Procedures and Cases:

• Suction D&C
• Laparoscopy
• NST interpretation
• C-sections
• Circumcisions
• Tubal ligations

EMR and Documentation Tools:

• EPIC electronic health records with Dragon for dictation.

Qualifications and Credentials Required:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within the last 5 years.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
• Must provide case logs evidencing 50 deliveries and 25 GYN procedures within the preceding 12 months.
• Consideration for IMLC or waiting for a Michigan medical license is acceptable; MI license is preferred.

Credentialing Standards for MyMichigan Health:

• Graduation from a medical school listed on the California Approved List.
• Completion of ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs.
• Absence of significant malpractice claims.
• Clean NPDB report required prior to interview and submission.
• Three professional references from colleagues familiar with candidate’s work, dated within the last 18 months.
• Submission of case/patient logs demonstrating required clinical experience.
