Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking a gastroenterologist for a locum tenens assignment in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The role involves a mix of inpatient and outpatient care with daily clinic duties and advanced GI procedures including endoscopy, ERCP and colonoscopy, plus liver biopsy as needed.

Weekend call with a 30-minute response time, rounding responsibilities, and charting via an online portal are expected.

Qualifications

• Upper GI endoscopy, ERCP, colonoscopy, liver biopsy and related procedures are required.
• Sigmoidoscopy, foreign body removal and variceal injection skills are required.
• PEG placement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monday - Friday clinic; weekend call with 30-minute response time required.
• 20 patients per shift.
• Mixed inpatient and outpatient setting -- rounding required.
• Assignment details and time entry in online portal.
