Job summary

PC Recruiter is actively recruiting a Locum General Surgery Physician Assistant to support four HPB surgeons in a 30-bed HPB service in Charlotte, NC. The role centers on inpatient rounds, admissions, and surgical service management with no call.

Assigning several APPs to a four-day schedule (7 a.m.–5 p.m.), you will care for approximately 15 patients per shift, with paid travel and expenses for this assignment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in PA studies.
• Active North Carolina PA license.
• PA-C certification (or eligible).
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rounding, admissions, and surgical service management.
• Manage approximately 15 patients per shift.
• Occasional outpatient clinic coverage.

Locum General Surgery Physician Assistant

Put your surgical expertise to work supporting four hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgeons.

Why This Assignment

• Assignment Dates: ASAP start, ongoing
• Schedule: 7 a.m.–5 p.m., four days per week; no call
• Pay: $120/hour
• Support four HPB surgeons alongside three additional APPs
• Manage approximately 15 patients per shift in a 30-bed department
• Primarily inpatient rounding, admissions, and surgical service management, with occasional outpatient clinic coverage
• Care for patients with benign and malignant hepatobiliary and pancreatic conditions
• Epic EMR with RN, MA, and APP support
• Travel: Paid travel and expenses

About You

• Be able to do the job as described.
• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, PA-C
• Active North Carolina Physician Assistant license
• BLS certification
• At least 1 year of general surgery experience, preferably HPB
• Comfortable managing inpatient surgical patients and admissions
