Job summary

Palm Careers is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant for a full-time contract in central California. Candidates must hold an active California State license and possess surgical first assist experience.

The assignment begins in March 2026 for 6 months, with a 1099 engagement and competitive rate that includes flights, hotel, rental/mileage, and other covered expenses. Schedule is Mon-Fri with four 10-hour shifts and no on-call requirement.

• Active APP Board Certification.
• Active California State License.
• Active ACLS.
• Active BLS.
• Fluoroscopy License.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st Assist in Operating Rooms – 5 OR’s and 4 OR’s.
• See orthopedic cases including Total Joints, Shoulders, Sports, ACL’s, and Urgent Fractures.
• Estimated 4 to 6 cases per day, depending on cases.

An active California State license and surgical 1st assist experience are required. Located in central California, this role combines professional opportunity with a lifestyle that includes coastal access, wine country, and a mild year-round climate!

Start: March 2026

Assignment length: 6 months to start!

Duties

Incumbents will provide 1st Assist in Operating Rooms – 5 OR’s and 4 OR’s. Will see orthopedic cases including but not limited to Total Joins, Shoulders, Sports, ACL’s, and Urgent Fractures. Estimated 4 to 6 cases per day, depending on cases

Schedule

• Mon-Fri – Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00am – 5:30pm)
• No Call
