Job summary

Weatherby Healthcare is seeking an experienced locum tenens ophthalmologist to cover inpatient ophthalmology and trauma call needs in Mesa, Arizona.

No fixed clinic schedule; privileges required; you’ll perform eyelid lacerations, foreign bodies, ruptured globes, and corneal abrasions, with occasional inpatient follow-up.

Weatherby provides paid malpractice, pre-paid travel and housing, and ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.

Qualifications

• Hospital privileges required.
• Locum coverage with potential for 2027 dates.
• Experience in trauma ophthalmology preferred.
• Ability to manage eyelid lacerations and foreign bodies.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient ophthalmology coverage.
• Perform trauma-related eye procedures (lac, foreign bodies).
• Manage corneal abrasions and related injuries.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and Weatherby consultant.
