Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking an autonomous Locum Occupational Medicine or Urgent Care Physician for our clinic in Rancho Cordova, CA. You will evaluate, diagnose, and treat scheduled and walk-in patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting, handling work injuries, occupational exams, and minor procedures.

Applicants must hold a California medical license, DEA registration, and board certification or eligibility in a related field, with at least one year of clinical procedure experience.

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

Job Type: Locum Tenens / Full-Time

Assignment Duration: Immediate Start – January 23, 2027

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or until last patient is seen)

Position Overview

The Judge Group is seeking an autonomous and skilled Locum Occupational Medicine or Urgent Care Physician for our clinic in Rancho Cordova, CA. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat both scheduled and walk-in patients in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting. You will handle work-related injuries, perform regulatory occupational health exams, provide employer-requested services, and execute minor office-based procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: Diagnose and treat acute work-related injuries, illnesses, and walk-in urgent care patients.


• Occupational Exams: Perform comprehensive health examinations, including DOT physicals, pre-placement evaluations, public safety exams, and surveillance screenings.


• Procedures & Planning: Perform minor office-based procedures as clinically appropriate; develop tailored treatment plans and determine return-to-work status.


• Communication: Coordinate effectively with employers to communicate employee health status, progress, and specific work restrictions.

Required QualificationsFor Physicians (MD / DO):

• Active, unrestricted California medical license.


• Active, unrestricted DEA registration.


• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or a related primary care specialty.


• Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing office-based clinical procedures.


• Ability to practice with complete autonomy

Preferred Qualification (All Providers):

• DOT Certification: Active DOT Medical Examiner Certification is strongly preferred. Candidates must be willing to obtain certification if not already held.
