. This is a contract, on-site role within the Medical Practice industry, offering an opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

As a Locum NP/PA, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries, providing timely and effective care. You will work closely with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and continuity of care while maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute and urgent medical conditions
• Perform comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and assessments
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and laboratory results
• Diagnose conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment and self-care
• Perform minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, and splinting as appropriate
• Document patient encounters accurately and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Refer patients to specialists or higher levels of care when clinically indicated
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, infection control, and safety standards

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Indiana
• Board certification from the appropriate national certifying body (ANCC or AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs)
• Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently in a high-volume setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and team members
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Commitment to patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different urgent care locations and schedules

Schedule: 3 shifts per week, weekdays (8a-8p) and weekends (8a-6p)

No call requirement

Daily Volume: 30 patients

EMR: Cerner, switching to Epic

Must be board-certified
