Job summary

77 Consultants is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a contract, on-site gastroenterology role in Portland, ME. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage GI conditions, supporting physicians across outpatient and procedural settings.

Responsibilities include endoscopy support, coordinating referrals, prescribing medications, and maintaining EMR documentation in Epic. Board-certified candidates with DEA and BLS/ACLS are preferred; travel and expenses are paid.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Oregon
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program with appropriate national board certification
• Prior clinical experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty
• Strong knowledge of gastrointestinal diseases, diagnostics, and treatment modalities
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient-centered care skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Valid DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
• Experience with endoscopy support or procedural assistance is preferred
• Flexibility and reliability to meet locum coverage schedules

This is a contract, on-site position offering an opportunity to provide high-quality gastroenterology care within a collaborative clinical team.

In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with gastrointestinal conditions, supporting physicians in delivering comprehensive care across outpatient and procedural settings. You will work closely with the gastroenterology team to ensure continuity of care, accurate documentation, and patient satisfaction.

Level III Trauma Center

Schedule: Monday-Friday, (8a-5p)

No call requirement

Setting: Outpatient

Patient Volume: 18-20 per day

Duties: Clinic coverage, management of chronic and acute GI diseases, order and sending patients for endoscopy procedures

Support Staff: 1 PA inpatient and 1 triage RN

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Additional Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA
