Neonatal Nurse Practitioner – Locum / NNP – NICU

Dates: 9/1/2025 - 12/31/2025

Locum opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a high-volume Level II nursery, where your expertise in newborn procedures is essential. You'll be the solo overnight provider with neonatologist backup, helping over 3,000 newborns each year start strong.

About You

• Be able to do the job as described
• Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner / NNP or completion of neonatal PA fellowship
• Comfortable working independently in a Level II nursery setting
• Proficient in advanced neonatal procedures including intubation, central lines, and chest tubes
• 5+ years of inpatient newborn, pediatric, or pediatric ED experience strongly preferred
• Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required, BLS and NRP

What You’ll Be Doing

• Independently manage newborn care in a Level II Special Care Nursery
• Perform procedures including intubation, umbilical and PCVC line placements, and chest tube placement
• Take overnight or weekend solo call with neonatologist available by phone
• Provide immediate, hands-on newborn care during a range of deliveries
• Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to ensure smooth patient transitions
