77 consultants is seeking a Locum MD to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will evaluate, diagnose, and plan treatment for adults with blood disorders and cancers, working with a multidisciplinary team and Epic EMR.

You must be board-certified or eligible in hematology/oncology, hold an active medical license, and possess DEA and ACLS. The role includes 9-hour day shifts, 1:3 beeper rotation, and paid travel expenses.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in hematology/oncology completed with fellowship training.
• Board certification or board eligibility in hematology and oncology.
• Current, unrestricted medical license in the practice state.
• DEA registration and ACLS certification are required.
• Proficient in using EHR systems and maintaining compliant documentation.
• Strong communication and patient-counseling skills; ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

Description

. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care within a medical practice setting, supporting patients with complex blood disorders and cancers.

As a Locum MD, you will deliver comprehensive clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients across the hematology and oncology spectrum. You will work closely with the practice's clinical team to ensure continuity of care, uphold evidence-based standards, and maintain a patient-centered approach throughout every stage of treatment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy and targeted therapies
• Monitor patient response to treatment and adjust care protocols as needed
• Manage acute and chronic hematology and oncology complications
• Coordinate care with nurses, pharmacists, radiologists, and other specialists
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in the EHR system
• Participate in tumor board discussions and multidisciplinary case reviews
• Counsel patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes
• Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Support continuity of care during coverage periods for the practice

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program and hematology/oncology fellowship
• Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
• Valid, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
• Current DEA registration and active ACLS certification
• Strong clinical knowledge of hematologic malignancies and solid tumor oncology
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-counseling skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly within varied clinical environments
• Preferred: Experience in locum tenens or contract-based medical practice

Schedule: 9-hour day shifts

Call Requirement: 1:3 beeper rotation

Setting: Inpatient and outpatient

Patient Volume: 10+ per day to start, will ramp up to 28-30 per day

Patient Population: Adults

Support Staff: Hematologist Oncologists, APPs, nurse navigators, and nurse educators

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

CSR and DEA required
