Job summary

Bourtreehill Health Centre in Irvine, North Ayrshire, is seeking a GP locum to cover a maternity leave. The post offers 6 sessions per week from February 2027 for a minimum of 9 months, within a busy, supportive practice.

Our established team includes GP partners, salaried GPs, ANP, nurses, and other professionals; we actively supervise GP trainees and FY2s, and host medical students. EMIS/DOCMAN are used, with Vision Hosted planned within 12 months.

We are delighted to be able to offer anexcitingopportunity to an enthusiastic GP to join ourpassionate and welcoming Practice Team as alocumto cover an upcoming maternity leave. We are seeking our new GP colleague to work with us for 6 sessions/week from February 2027 for a minimum of 9 months.

Our establishedteam of five GP partners, four salaried GPs, one ANP, two Practice Nurses and one Health Care Assistant provide medical services to around 9,200 patients in our single-site, modern GP Practice in Irvine.On-site multidisciplinary support includes our pharmacy team, respiratory specialist nurse, mental health practitioners, community link workers, income support adviser, district nurses, healthvisitors and CTAC nurses.

We are a committed training practice supervising GP trainees and FY2sandan enthusiastic teaching practice of Year 3, 4 and 5 University of Glasgow medical students. We foster an excellent team spirit, evidenced by our tradition of having retained several trainees andlocums as permanent members of staff. Systems used in the practice include EMIS and DOCMAN. It is anticipated that we will transition to Vision Hosted within the next 12 months. We are located in Irvine, North Ayrshire, and due to the fact that we are just off the bypass, Bourtreehill is fortunately an easy commute from Glasgowandfrom other areas of Ayrshire.
