Job summary

St Brycedale Surgery in Kirkcaldy is seeking a GP maternity locum to join a forward-thinking, well-established practice. The role offers 4–5 sessions per week, preferably Wednesdays and Fridays, starting January 2027.

This is an opportunity to provide excellent patient care within a supportive, team-based environment. The successful candidate will have GP registration and be ready to cover maternity leave, with support from a skilled administrative and clinical team, in a modern primary care

Qualifications

• GP qualification and registration in the UK (implied)
• Locum experience desirable
• Ability to work in a collaborative primary care team

Responsibilities

• Provide general practice clinical care to patients at St Brycedale Surgery
• Cover maternity leave as maternity locum with continuity of care
• Participate in MDT and practice meetings as required
• Manage patient care with appropriate referrals and notes in the EMR

About St Brycedale

• List size 7600
• 5 Partners
• MDT - 2 ANPS, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 MHN, pharmacy team, CTAC, Care Home ANP support
• Training Practice Post graduate and Undergraduate
• Vision/Docman Practice

The role

• 10 x 15 minute appointments F2F or telephone in the morning
• 12x 15 minute appointments F2F or telephone in the afternoon
• Share of home visits or lunch time emergency surgery at 12noon
• Rotational duty doctor
• Share of practice admin if doing the full five sessions with dedicated admin time given.
• Daily opportunity to meet up with clinical staff between morning surgery and Home visits/Emerg Clinic.
