Job summary

Aya Locums is actively seeking a locum general surgeon for a Spokane, WA assignment. The position involves a hospital-based practice with standard daytime hours and no-call coverage in the schedule, along with opportunities for diverse cases.

The role requires MD or DO credentials, an ACGME/AOA-approved surgical residency, ABS board certification, and an active WA medical license. Compensations include competitive hourly pay and full locum support services.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in surgery accredited by ACGME or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
• Board certification in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS).

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgeries including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder removals and emergency surgeries.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries such as trauma cases or unexpected complications.
• Provide consultations to patients and other medical professionals regarding surgical options and care plans.
• Educate patients about postoperative care and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
