Job summary

77 consultants seeks a locum tenens General Surgeon for an on-site, contract role in Colorado. The associate-level position supports general surgical care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases within a collaborative clinical team.

You will work with experienced surgeons and staff to ensure continuity of care, participate in case reviews, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards while providing timely expert care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board eligible or board certified in General Surgery.
• Valid Colorado medical license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Associate-level experience in general surgery practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems (Epic).
• ATLS certification and DEA required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general surgical procedures, including abdominal, GI, and soft tissue surgeries.
• Preoperative evaluations and development of individualized treatment plans.
• Postoperative care and management of recovery and complications.
• Evaluate and diagnose patients with surgical concerns.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR (Epic).
• Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests.
• Provide emergency surgical consultations as required.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery expectations.
• Adhere to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in case reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
