Job summary

GHR Healthcare in Portage, Wisconsin seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum tenens role in a Level IV ED and Urgent Care setting. Work includes 12.5-hour shifts with ~20 encounters per shift and 40–60 visits per day, with support from hospitalists, telestroke, and tele-ICU.

Requirements include MD or DO, board certification, Wisconsin license or eligibility, ACLS and ATLS, and at least 1 year of EM experience in a high-volume ED.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine is required.
• Active Wisconsin medical license or eligibility is required.
• ACLS and ATLS certifications current.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize and treat patients with acute emergencies.
• Manage approximately 20 encounters per shift in a high-volume ED/urgent care.
• Provide emergency and urgent care across ED and Urgent Care settings.
• Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, nursing and support staff.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
• Utilize telestroke and tele-ICU services where appropriate.
