Job summary

GHR Healthcare is seeking a Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician for day shifts in Portage, Wisconsin. This position covers a busy ED/urgent care with 40–60 patient visits per 24 hours and a day schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Requires board-certified EM, active Wisconsin license or eligibility, ACLS/ATLS, and at least 1 year of EM experience. Expect collaboration with APPs and specialty support, with 13-bed unit and Level IV trauma.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Emergency Medicine.
• Active Wisconsin medical license or eligibility.
• ACLS and ATLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year of emergency medicine experience.
• Ability to evaluate and treat emergency and urgent care patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, stabilize, and treat patients in the ED and urgent care.
• Manage approximately 20 patient encounters per shift.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate consultations, transfers, and admissions.
• Collaborate with advanced practice clinicians and the care team to deliver high-quality care.
• Utilize available specialty consultation, telemedicine, lab, radiology, surgery, and critical care resources.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, procedures, and dispositions promptly.
