Job summary

77 Consultants is seeking a physician for a contract on-site locum in Lexington, KY to provide high-acuity care in a fast-paced ICU setting. The role focuses on managing complex critical conditions within a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates are board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care Medicine, with 2–3 years of relevant experience, and must hold an active KY license (or be able to obtain one). Responsibilities include invasive procedures, daily rounds, and code leadership.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine or related subspecialty preferred or eligible.
• Active, unrestricted Kentucky medical license or ability to obtain before start.
• 2–3 years of clinical experience in critical care, ICU, or ED settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management to ICU patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.
• Perform and supervise invasive procedures such as central line placement, intubation, ventilation management, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Collaborate with nurses, respiratory therapists, and specialists to coordinate patient care plans.
• Lead code blue and rapid response teams and act swiftly during emergencies.
• Document daily rounds and adjust treatment protocols as needed.
