Job summary

77 consultants is seeking an Associate-level physician to provide critical care coverage in a 24-hour on-site medical practice. This locum role requires critical care expertise, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage complex cases, perform procedures (central/arterial lines, thoracentesis, chest tube), participate in rounds, and document in Epic EMR while ensuring patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Active medical license to practice in Massachusetts.
• Board certification in Critical Care Medicine or eligibility.
• Associate-level experience in critical care or ICU setting.
• Proven ability to manage critically ill patients and perform critical care procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Experience with electronic health records systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to on-site patients.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic critical illnesses.
• Perform procedures including central lines, arterial lines, chest tube insertions.
• Collaborate with nurses and specialists to coordinate care.
• Lead rounds, participate in quality improvement, document care in EHR.
• Work 24-hour shifts and manage multiple high-acuity patients.
• Provide leadership to junior staff when needed.
