• Call response time: 20 minutes
• 10–12 patients per shift
• Inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular surgical coverage
• Coverage includes urgent, emergent, and outpatient cases
• Clinic hours may be required: less than 10 hours per week
• Only hospital serving a regional catchment area of ~500,000
