Job summary

Aya Locums has an immediate opening for a locum Surgery Cardiothoracic physician in Athens, GA.

The assignment runs 13 weeks with a 24-hour on-call schedule. Start date is 02-01-27. Responsibilities include performing a full range of general and cardiothoracic procedures, preoperative and postoperative care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Active Georgia medical license and ABS board certification required; ACLS recommended.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Residency in general surgery accredited by ACGME or AOA.
• Board certification in surgery by ABS; active Georgia license; ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of surgeries including general and cardiothoracic procedures.
• Provide preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop patient care plans.
• Be on-call for emergency surgeries and trauma cases.
• Provide consultations on surgical options and care plans.
• Educate patients on postoperative care and follow-up requirements.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
