Job summary

77 consultants seeks an experienced NP/PA to deliver high-quality perioperative and postoperative care in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams. You will contribute to assessments, planning, and decision-making throughout the surgical journey, ensuring continuity and excellence in patient care.

The role emphasizes pre-op evaluations, intraoperative assistance, and post-op management in inpatient/outpatient settings, with Epic EHR documentation and a strict

Qualifications

• Must hold an active NP or PA license in the applicable state.
• Board certification (NCCPA or AANP) required.
• Prior experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related field preferred.
• Proficiency with perioperative care and postoperative management.
• Experience with Epic EHR and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and determine readiness for cardiothoracic procedures.
• Assist surgeons in the operating room and during complex cases.
• Conduct post-operative rounds and monitor recovery.
• Manage acute and chronic cardiothoracic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Prescribe medications and adjust plans based on response.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and self-care.
• Coordinate care with nursing, physicians, therapists, and other providers.
• Document encounters accurately in the EHR.
• Ensure compliance with protocols, safety standards, and regulations.
