Job Opening: Locomotive Welder

Location: Mayfield, Kentucky

Shift: Weekend, Friday - Sunday, 6am - 6pm

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with all safety, FRA, and operational regulations.
  2. Perform welding on locomotives and components, including single and multi-pass welds in all positions.
  3. Work from drawings and specifications, or learn to do so.
  4. Use equipment such as welders, torches, grinders, forklifts, and cranes safely and accurately.
  5. Follow work instructions and participate in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
  6. Maintain records and assist with repairs and maintenance as directed.
  7. Adhere to all safety policies, including PPE usage.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Welding certifications preferred.
  • At least 2 years of welding experience, with proficiency in Heavy MIG and Flux Core welding.
  • Ability to read blueprints and possess mechanical aptitude.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physical activities such as climbing, reaching, and standing for long periods.
  • Work may be indoors or outdoors, exposed to weather and noise, with proper PPE required.
  • Work in safety-sensitive environments around live tracks and heavy equipment.
