Job summary

Watco Transloading is seeking a Locomotive Service Technician for our Cherryvale, KS site. The role focuses on inspecting, repairing, and maintaining locomotives in accordance with FRA guidelines and company policies.

You will work with tools and diagnostic equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and complete required documentation. This on-site, full-time hourly position offers hands-on training, team collaboration, and opportunities for growth within Watco’s safety culture and operations

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability to drive company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain locomotives per FRA and company policies.
• Provide customer service aligned with company standards.
• Dismantle and repair mechanical devices with hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Record hour meter readings for inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect locomotives for air, fuel, oil, water, and exhaust leaks and service as needed.
• Complete FRA reports related to mechanical duties.
