Job summary

Carload Express, Inc. is seeking a Motor/Equipment Technician to assist in daily locomotive service, inspection, and preventive maintenance. You will work to ensure mechanical and electrical systems meet specifications and operate safely.

The role involves renewing consumables, cleaning locomotives, and aiding in repairs as needed. Occasional travel to eastern U.S. locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED completed.
• 1-3 years related heavy equipment experience preferred; railroad experienceHelpful but not required.
• Aptitude in mechanical and/or electrical fields and diesel engines; willingness to learn.
• Valid state driver’s license required; CDL preferred and may be required at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily service, inspections, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on locomotives to ensure safe operation.
• Renew consumables (fueling, traction sand, cooling water, lube oil) and clean locomotives.
• Assist in other repairs and maintenance as required.
• Travel may be required to eastern U.S. locations to assist other Carload Express-managed companies with repairs and maintenance.
