Job summary
Impact Workforce Solutions in Mayfield, KY is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, fabrication, and preventative maintenance on historic diesel and electric locomotives.
This is a full-time position with weekly pay and benefits. The schedule includes day shifts Monday-Thursday and weekend shifts Friday-Sunday, with a 10-hour/12-hour rotation and overtime considerations as described in the posting.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Willingness to learn locomotive-specific systems and railroad procedures.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain locomotives and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose malfunctions in diesel engines, air systems, trucks, and other components.
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Replace and repair components such as wheels, traction motors, and gear cases.
- Read blueprints and maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs.
