Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in mechanical or electrical field, and/or diesel engines preferred.
• Valid CDL and ability to pass DOT medical certification and Drug & Alcohol testing.
• Working knowledge of FRA, AAR, OSHA, and EPA rules related to locomotives.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on locomotive mechanical, electrical and air systems.
• Read and comply with diesel engine manuals and locomotive schematics.
• Install and repair components such as pumps, radiators, air brakes, and wiring per specs.
• Document inspection and repair reports per FRA specifications and guidelines.
• Test and adjust systems using gauges, meters and test devices.
• Maintain DOT qualifications and CDL compliance while following safety rules.
