Job summary

Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a skilled Locksmith for the Facilities Management Division to install, repair and maintain locks and electronic access control systems throughout county buildings. The role requires ability to respond to emergencies and manage master key systems.

The position involves reporting to Broward County-owned facilities and performing related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Requires two years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of the locksmith trade or closely related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain locking mechanisms for buildings, vehicles, and high-level security facilities.
• Respond to emergency lockouts and emergency work orders.
• Maintain Master Key systems and records.
• Install and program electronic access control locking systems and devices.
• Cut and duplicate keys and re-key locks.
• Use computerized maintenance management software to document maintenance work orders.
