Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs’ Wisconsin Veterans Home at King (WVHK) seeks a Locksmith Journey LTE to join the Buildings and Grounds team. The role focuses on installing, repairing, re-keying, and maintaining mechanical and electronic locks and access control systems in resident and staff spaces.

The LTE position is flexible, part-time with potential for additional hours. TB test and criminal background check are required; Wisconsin residency is preferred per Wisconsin statutes.

Qualifications

• Minimally qualified applicants will have Journeyman certification and/or higher education as locksmith.
• Experience with inventory, panic bars, and computer-based key management systems.
• Experience replacing, re-pining, and opening locks in traditional and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, re-key, and adjust mechanical and electronic locks and access control systems.
• Fabricate and install door components and hardware; inspect and maintain buildings and grounds.
• Interact professionally in residences and staff spaces; follow ADA and safety codes.
