Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a Lock Shop Supervisor to lead the Lock Shop and Electronic Access Control program across the campus. You will supervise locksmith and access control staff, plan maintenance, and coordinate with Public Safety and Facilities teams to ensure secure, reliable access.

The role requires five years of journey-level locksmith experience and at least three years of supervisory experience, plus strong leadership and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of journey-level locksmith experience in a commercial, institutional, healthcare, or higher education environment.
• Minimum three years of supervisory or management experience leading a locksmith, access control, or related skilled trades team.
• Experience with key control programs, preventive maintenance, and contractor performance.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of mechanical and electronic access control systems.
• Manage the university's Key Control Program, including key creation, issuance, auditing, and accountability.
• Provide leadership and training for Lock Shop staff and coordinate safety and regulatory training.
• Ensure compliance with codes, PPE requirements, and safe handling of tools and hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with Facilities Operations, Public Safety, Residential Living, Capital Projects, and IT for campus security needs.
