Job summary

Texstar Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Locator to mark underground utilities using detection equipment and clear maps. You will document all locates and maintain precise records to support safe and efficient projects.

Responsibilities include reading utility maps, coordinating with excavators and utility representatives, and performing after-hours/on-call work when required. This role requires readiness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• Read utility maps to locate underground utilities accurately.
• Document all locates and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Document all locates with clear, timely records.
• Communicate with excavators, utility reps, and staff.
• Be prepared to work overtime and travel as needed.

What you’ll do

• Operate detection equipment to locate and mark underground utilities, seeking guidance from experienced Locators as needed
• Read utility maps to find underground utilities correctly
• Document all locates
• Respond promptly and courteously to excavation noticesCommunicate well with excavators, utility representatives, and company staff
• Dig lightly with a shovel when necessary
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, operate vehicle, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: use portable ladder, work in confined spaces and climb stairs
