Job summary

Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment, Inc. is seeking an Underground Locator to assist in directing boring operations and locating utilities for underground installations.

The role requires reading engineered drawings, operating a drill, and coordinating with the machine operator on site. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years locating for boring drill; experience operating drill.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.
• Class A CDL license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Punctual and available at the start of each workday.
• Assist in safe setup and breakdown of work zone.
• Operate locator to direct and guide directional boring machine and drill operator for underground utility placement.
• Locate other utilities to avoid damage.
• Direct activities of machine operator and laborer at the job site.
• Load, unload materials, machinery, and tools per project plans and specifications.
• Drive trucks/vehicles while towing loaded trailers; requires Class A CDL.
• Dig ditches/trenches, backfill excavations, and grade earth to specifications.
• Assist in installation of pipes and risers.
• Assist in setting pedestals.
• Is neatly groomed and wears company uniform.
• Notifies supervisor of any unsafe equipment or working conditions.
• Attends safety meetings as required.
• Read and check prints.
• Holds required licensing to drive vehicles and equipment including Class A CDL.

Requirements

Education Requirement: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience

Experience Requirement: 1-2 Years previous experience with locating for a Boring Drill and related equipment. Experience operating drill. Knowledge to read and interpret engineered drawings

Skills and Abilities: Perform duties satisfactorily

Language Requirement: Read, speak, and understand English

Licenses or Certifications: Class A CDL License; clean driving record

Physical Requirement: Sitting, standing, hand dexterity, speaking, vision and hearing.

Mental Requirement: Ability to follow procedures in an organized fashion; problem solving skills.

Working Conditions: Field; subject to outside weather conditions.

Duties / Tasks

• Read and check prints.
• Receives an annual performance evaluation of satisfactory or better or a plan is in place to achieve that result.
• Follows company, customer and OSHA Safety rules and regulations.
• Performs any other duty or assignment as may be assigned, from time to time, by the Supervisor.
• Holds required licensing to drive vehicles and equipment including Class A CDL License.
• Understands project deadlines and prepares to work in outside weather conditions.
