Job summary

N&S LOCATING SERVICES d.b.a. S&N is seeking a Locate Technician to oversee assigned locate requests daily in Atlanta, GA. The role reports to the Area or Local Manager and requires travel up to 80% in varied conditions.

You will manage ticket routing, respond to customer queries, ensure field and vehicle safety, and maintain equipment while presenting a professional image to clients and the community. Must be prepared for overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of locatable facilities (gas, electric, copper, fiber, water/sewer) and underground infrastructure.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Diplomacy and customer-facing diplomacy skills.
• Familiarity with ticket management systems and field software.
• Advanced knowledge of facility records/prints.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.

Position Summary

• Responsible for field safety, locate request, vehicle safety, and vehicle maintenance.
• Maintains a clean vehicle.
• Projects a positive image of the organization to customers, industry, and community.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

• Proficient knowledge of all locatable facilities (gas, electric, communication, copper, fiber, water and sewer.
• Sound verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound diplomacy skills.
• Skilled in Excl and locate ticket management systems.
• Advanced knowledge of various facility records/prints.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.

QualificationsRequirements

• Must be able to work forty (40) hours a week, overtime and be On-Call as required.
• Must be able to travel from time to time.
• Basic knowledge of underground infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of Electromagnetic Theory.
• Basic computer knowledge (email, excel and software, pdf, kmz, JPEG).
• Must be able to work outside in the elements.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Integrity and reliability.

Work Environment

• Prolonged periods of driving, walking, and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
