What are we looking for in our Localization Program Manager?
Job Title: Localization Program Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months
Pay rate: $50-55/hr W2 (DOE)
Description
Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The family of products is currently available in 100+ languages and we are adding many more. Over 70% of people use our products in a language other than English, and approximately 90% are outside of North America. As a Localization Program Manager, you will partner with product and internationalization teams to empower products to feel local at a global scale.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in localization program or project management
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization/internationalization project or program management
- Experience with and thorough understanding of translation technologies: translation memories, translation management systems, machine translation, etc.
- Experience implementing scalable and change management frameworks
- Experience communicating across and driving results among cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international offices
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions
- Ability to stay focused, prioritize, and create structure across large, ambiguous programs and set goals for long-term initiatives
Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Design, Engineering, etc.) to launch successful localized products and content
- Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks tailored to various products and content types
- Guide stakeholders to ensure localization best practices are followed and drive efficient execution
- Proactively identify and streamline technical and process issues affecting localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality
- Seek opportunities to optimize the international user experience and influence adoption of optimal solutions
- Partner with internationalization teams to ensure resources are in place and deliveries meet standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine translation, CAT tools, and AI applications in localization
- Knowledge of additional languages beyond English
- Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR
- Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or coding languages
- Experience working with localization vendors
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years managing localization programs or projects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders and navigate ambiguous problems
Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:
- Building relationships with stakeholders to identify priorities and drive execution
- Analyzing data to inform decisions
- Streamlining technical and process issues affecting localization
- Supporting localization launches and ensuring best practices are adopted
- Designing process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
