DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

• Reviews in-game text, voice scripts, manual text, package copy, game summaries, websites, social media posts, and other game-related and/or consumer-facing materials as needed according to established processes and procedures


• Reviews text and makes recommendations regarding grammar, spelling, style, voice, content, and consistency based on standard guidlines


• Researches franchise history for familiarity and context


• Assists in maintaining department style guides, character sheets, and other editorial guidelines


• Collaborates with proofreaders and copy editors to review game content consistently and efficiently


• Collaborates with other editors by learning process efficiencies and leveraging resources.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

• One to two years related experience or professional editing certification.


• Ability to identify possible culturalization issues and propose possible solutions.


• Familiarity with localization translation/translation tools.


• Awareness and understanding of market preferences for the target market.


• Undergraduate degree in required language, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base pay range of $26.44 - $37.02 per hour, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
