LOCAL VETERANS EMPLOYMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Job Location: Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA) 216 East Highway 260, Payson, Arizona 85541

Salary: $23.10 per hour ($48,050.28 annually)

Job Summary

At the Department of Economic Security (DES), we strengthen individuals, families, and communities for a better quality of life. DES is looking for individuals that are committed to service, community, and teamwork. DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER) with the Workforce Solutions Administration (WSA). This position is responsible for providing a wide range of employment and recruitment services to engage, advise, prepare, and match job seekers with Arizona businesses and enable job seekers to find employment, maintain or strengthen current employment, or build a sustainable career. The position also assists businesses in meeting their workforce needs.

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform outreach and case management functions such as assessing skills, abilities, work history, employment barriers, and career interests; retention follow‑up; developing employment plans; determining eligibility for services; providing information on labor market, in‑demand industries, and occupations; and identifying and coordinating with formal and informal resources to remove barriers, develop skills, and achieve employment.
  • Employer Services – Provide recruitment‑related services to engage, assess, advise, and assist Arizona businesses in meeting their workforce needs through on‑site employer visits; providing information on labor market, in‑demand industries, and occupations.
  • Record Keeping – Use databases to register and refer job seekers; enter job orders; document job seeker‑employer relationship management; complete and maintain accurate records and reports for performance and reporting requirements in accordance with quality and quantity standards mandated by various laws, rules, and federal regulations.
  • Customer Service – Provide program information to job seekers, colleagues, and the business community; maintain positive working relationships with local partners, community organizers, and other agency personnel; resolve customer issues and complaints; and apply veteran priority of services (VPOS) for veteran clients where applicable.
