What You Can Expect Working in the Local Truck Driver/Transportation Specialist - SiteBox Position

The Local Truck Driver/Transportation Specialist - SiteBox is responsible for safely transporting modular buildings between vendors and Lange facilities and to our customers. This role ensures compliance with all DOT regulations, safety rules, and regulations, and requires being a team player. The role involves maintaining direct contact with vendors, Lange facilities, customers, and our dispatch team.

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
• Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
• Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service or repair status, following regulations.
• Manoeuvre trucks into loading/unloading positions, following signals and ensuring proper positioning.
• Safely load and unload trailers, using specialized equipment when needed.
• Secure cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers.
• Verify delivery instructions and routes.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class A CDL.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with flat-bed and oversize loads (some units are 12' wide).
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certification.
• Pass background and drug tests.
• Frequent travel ability.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card.
• Ability to read oversize routes and permits.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic mechanical and maintenance skills.
• Experience operating a forklift.

Work Environment

The physical demands include exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, working in various weather conditions, and operating machinery and tools safely. Visual acuity and physical flexibility are required for inspections, loading, and unloading. Accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
