Qualifications

Due to continued growth and expansion into the market, we are currently accepting applications for Local Truck Driver CDL A Flatbed Delivery in Chester, VA.

Compensation:

• Hourly pay $26.53 - $32.21/hour, based on experience
• Overtime paid after 40 hours per week
• Two Bonus programs available; paid out every 6 months
• Weekly paychecks

Work Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Typically work 4:30am-1:00pm, work until work is completed
• Home every day, no overnights
• Make local 6-8 stops per day, typically in Northern Virginia to Southern North Carolina
• Orientation/Safety Training in Covington, CT; approximately 3 days, all expenses paid
• Must be flexible with work schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Drive CDL A flatbed to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
• Requires climbing up and/or down the back and side of truck to unstrap and re-strap and re-tarp at each delivery
• Document pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Manage hours of service (HOS) and ensure DOT compliance
• Provide excellent customer service
• Check mechanical aspects of the vehicle
• Report maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers

Requirements:

• Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver´s License.
• Minimum of 6 months flatbed delivery and load securement experience preferred
• Experience securing pallets and loose steel products using straps and tarps on flatbed trailers with bows and side panels
• Must be able to lift, pull, push up to 70 pounds without assistance
• Familiar with Smart Drive or other fleet safety technology
• Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
• Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
• Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
• Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
• Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance
