Job summary

Coastal Sunbelt Produce in Ashland, VA, is seeking a route driver to cover daily deliveries, loading and unloading at stops, and maintaining accurate documentation. You will operate a truck in various weather conditions, verify orders with customers, and perform pre- and post-trip inspections.

The role requires 21+ years old, valid CDL preferred, and the ability to read and speak English for reports and communication with customers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• One year route delivery experience or equivalent driving a straight truck.
• CDL preferred; must meet DOT and FMCSA requirements.
• Must be 21+ years old; no drug/alcohol violations in 3 years; no FMCSA Clearinghouse violations.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for conversations and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Runs routes efficiently and meets or exceeds designated times.
• Unload product from trailer and place in designated customer storage areas.
• Transport product down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions.
• Lift, push, or move product weighing up to 75 pounds (up to 100 pounds occasionally).
• Verify delivery with customers and obtain signatures.
• Communicate discrepancies or returns to management; report errors.
• Call in for shorts when a customer doesn’t receive entire order.
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations and company policy.
