Job summary

Span Alaska Transportation seeks a reliable Panel Van Driver to perform local freight pickup and delivery using a van or small truck. You will provide professional customer service and operate safely in various conditions.

The role requires a High School diploma and at least six months of driving experience, a valid Class D license, and forklift certification. You will coordinate with Dispatch to manage routes and assist with loading and routine vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers, vendors, and drivers is essential.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to drive a variety of vehicles in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Pick-up and delivery of local freight using a van or small truck.
• Assist in loading and unloading of vehicles, trailers or containers as needed.
• Assist in moving freight within yard or warehouse using equipment.
• Communicate with Dispatch for routes and changes to assigned routes.
• Verify inventory loads against manifests and process related paperwork.
• Collect payment from customers with Cash On Delivery invoices.
• Assist customers by phone and in person regarding freight pickup and delivery.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle and perform minor maintenance.
• Adhere to Span/MSTS Safety and Fit for Duty policies.
• Overtime and Sunday rotation may be required.
