An established industry player is seeking a skilled driver to safely operate tractor/trailers for freight transportation. This role requires adherence to federal and state regulations, with responsibilities including conducting inspections, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service. **Job Summary:**
Responsible for safely operating a tractor/trailer in the transportation of freight, adhering to Company, Federal, State, and Local laws, including FMCSA regulations.
+ Operate all types of equipment safely, including manual transmissions and chaining tires, and be skilled in driving across various terrains and environmental conditions.
+ Comply with all FMCSA requirements for Commercial Driver’s License holders.
+ Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulations.
+ Not handle hazmat loads.
+ Ensure security of equipment and cargo.
+ Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, check gauges, and ensure trailer seals are intact.
+ Report maintenance issues promptly.
+ Verify unit numbers and report discrepancies.
+ Use in-cab technology as required.
+ Drive different schedules and work at the dock as needed.
+ Provide professional customer service.
+ Assist with loading/unloading freight and perform dock work.
+ Maintain regular attendance.
+ Perform other duties as assigned, including operational and safety tasks.
**Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
+ Minimum 21 years old with at least 1 year of driving experience.
+ Valid Class A CDL and registration with FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
+ Reside within 75 miles of the terminal or work site.
+ Stable employment history preferred.
+ Ability to operate a forklift and handle loads up to 70 lbs.
+ Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, climbing, and maneuvering trailers.
+ Provide an acceptable MVR.
+ Knowledge of state and FMCSA regulations.
+ Pass medical, road test, and drug screenings.
+ Proficient in English reading and speaking.
+ Ability to operate in diverse environmental conditions.
+ Capable of working independently or in teams and handling high-pressure situations.
+ Read and interpret safety and operational documentation.
+ Eligible to work in the U.S.
**Physical Demands:**
Frequent lifting/moving of at least 70 lbs., with good vision and physical dexterity required.
**Work Environment:**
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, hazardous materials, and various weather conditions, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud.
