Position Purpose:

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for providing industry-leading levels of service to clients while managing all customer document destruction needs, including transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policy and all local and federal laws. This involves loading and unloading the delivery vehicle and ensuring all cargo is securely fastened before transport.


Key Job Activities:
  1. Performs onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information.
  2. Performs pre/post-trip checks, and driver check-in on assigned truck, prior to leaving or closing for the day. Reports maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
  3. Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize injury and equipment damage.
  4. Complies with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service. Completes and maintains DOT logs when applicable.
  5. Maintains high security standards when handling consoles and collection totes by ensuring all documents are retrieved and containers are securely locked. Uses a hand-held device to service accounts, ensuring barcoding, location accuracy, and correct documentation of consoles/containers.
  6. Manages assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection and servicing of customer materials.
  7. Handles and responds to customer inquiries and problems promptly, always prioritizing customer and company interests.

Experience:

* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* 3+ years of experience, preferably in driving shred/box trucks and route management.
* Current driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record.
* May require immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
