Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions, Inc. in New Castle, CO seeks a LIC D Non-CDL Driver to transport freight between designated locations. You will unload, sort, palletize, and reload freight, and complete required paperwork in compliance with government regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities include safe driving, pre/post-trip inspections, and maintaining driver logs. DOT knowledge and customer service focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class D Driver’s License for the state of residence.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must meet insurability requirements.
• Familiarity with DOT driver and vehicle regulations.
• Freight handling and pallet jack experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive a straight truck/box truck safely and legally.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain required driving records and logs.
• Deliver and/or pickup freight to/from customer locations and service centers as instructed.
• Communicate status with dispatcher or supervisor.
• Complete shipping documents per procedures and ensure paperwork is ready for DOT inspections.
• Load or unload freight with or without mechanical assistance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a reliable and safety-focused LIC D Non-CDL Driver to join our growing team! To be successful in this role, the driver will drive a Company motor vehicle to transfer freight to and from specified locations by a specified time. Unloads, sorts, palletizes, and reloads a wide variety of freight, manually or with the aid of a mechanical device. Completes all paperwork required by government regulations and Company procedures / policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Drives a straight truck, or box truck, in a safe and legal manner.
• Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintains driving records required to comply with State and Federal regulations, including drivers’ logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, etc.
• Delivers and/or picks up freight to/from customer locations and/or a service center as instructed by dispatch or the immediate supervisor.
• Stays in contact with the service center dispatcher or appropriate supervisor via radio, pager, or phone to keep them informed of current status and to receive further instructions.
• Completes and processes the company’s shipping documents according to Company procedures.
• Ensures that all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that the appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point.
• Delivers shipping documentation to the appropriate employees.
• Loads or unloads a wide variety of freight onto and off a Company motor vehicle, at customer locations and at service center, with or without mechanical assistance depending on the size of freight, when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid Class D Driver’s License for the state in which the employee resides.
• Must be able to meet the requirements for insurability
• Must receive a negative test result on a pre-employment, controlled substances test.
• Must be able to expertly maneuver a straight truck, or box truck, in difficult driving conditions.
• Should have a good working knowledge of DOT driver and vehicle regulations.
• Must be very familiar with the area being served.
• Previous freight handling, forklift, and electric pallet jack experience preferred.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
