Job summary

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. is seeking a Grading Skid Loader Operator in Saint Paul, MN to perform fine grading and base preparation for asphalt paving projects. You will operate a skid steer/loader, ensure proper subgrade leveling and slope, and support material handling on site.

The role requires 1–3 years of skid steer experience, a CDL license, and the ability to read grade stakes and use GPS grade control. Union benefits and a strong safety culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience operating skid steer equipment in grading or site prep.
• CDL license required; valid driver’s license required.
• Experience grading for asphalt paving or road construction preferred.
• Ability to read grade stakes, laser levels, and GPS grade control.
• Familiar with safe operation of skid loader attachments.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious; works well in a team.
• Willingness to work extended hours, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operates skid steer to assist in grading, finishing, and curb work.
• Adjusts depth and grade to achieve proper cross section.
• May perform related duties like changing extensions and buckets.
• Maintains professional conduct with crew, supervisors, and inspectors.
• Collaborates with team and assists coworkers when needed.
• Supports general labor tasks when equipment operation is not required.
• Follows safety procedures and keeps the work area clean and organized.
• Assists with job setup and breakdown, moving and positioning equipment.
