Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Democratic Services and Scrutiny Officer for a 5-month contract in Bexley, UK, at £30 per hour umbrella. The role focuses on enhancing the Council's Overview and Scrutiny function, managing reviews, and supporting Members and committees.

Essential experience includes governance, policy development and scrutiny, with a degree-level qualification or equivalent. 36-hour week, 2 office days, with evening meeting attendance; deadline 24 September 2026.

Mansioni

• Oversee and manage the lifecycle of overview and scrutiny reviews.
• Create project plans, research strategies and evidence-gathering activities.
• Offer professional advice and support to Members involved in scrutiny reviews and committees.
• Develop high-quality reports, findings and recommendations from reviews.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring scrutiny recommendations.
• Perform research, data analysis and evidence collection to aid decision-making.
• Examine Council services, executive decisions and external providers.
