The position will serve as the Local Foods Program Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Broome County. This role involves coordinating and supporting programs related to the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, veterans, agritourism, and the buy local movement in Broome County. The coordinator will also oversee the statewide educational campaign for the Farmers Market Nutrition Program and support consumer education, marketing activities, and educational programs for agritourism destinations. The role emphasizes respect, inclusiveness, and collaboration with diverse community partners.

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, 30 hours/week, with an hourly rate of $22.00. Benefits include health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, and leave entitlements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Relevant experience for the role.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to travel.
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings/weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with event coordination and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to plan, teach, evaluate educational programs, and relate to diverse audiences.
  • Effective communication and computer skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Responsibilities:
  • Implement nutrition education events and support agritourism programs.
  • Represent CCE publicly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Assist with program planning, resource management, and evaluation.
Coordination/Operation:
  • Host trainings, coordinate statewide programs, and support local initiatives like Grown in Broome.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations and support team efforts.
Professional Development and Other Duties:
  • Participate in training, develop professional growth plans, and support extension activities.
Health and Safety:
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow applicable regulations.
