Job summary

Growing Places in Gardner, MA is seeking a part-time Kitchen Prep Specialist to transform fresh, locally grown produce into high-quality food products for families, schools, hospitals, and more. You will work with the Production Manager to support local farms and strengthen the regional food system.

This year-round role offers hands-on processing duties, production line operation, and packaging with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in a community-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced food environments.
• Experience with food processing, specifically produce preferred.
• Experience with food processing equipment operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Wash, trim, peel, cut and portion produce per recipes.
• Operate and monitor processing equipment (peelers, Robo Coupes, dehydrators, kettles, packaging machines).
• Package and label finished products to retail/wholesale standards.
• Maintain GMP-compliant sanitation and safety checks.
• Keep processing lines and tools clean and well-maintained.
