Job summary

Southeastern Freight Lines is hiring a Final Mile Driver in Asheville, NC. Responsibilities include local pickup, transport, and delivery of freight in a non CDL-A vehicle, with loading/unloading and safety checks. You will manage shipping documents and keep paperwork up to date.

Candidates must be 21+, have a HS diploma or GED, pass background checks and drug tests, and hold a valid license with an acceptable MVR. Training through the Driver Trainee Program follows after one year in the role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass background check and alcohol/drug test.
• Must have Valid Driver's License with acceptable MVR.
• Must have at least 6 months of driving experience including personal vehicle.
• Willing to enter Southeastern’s Driver Trainee Program after one year in Final Mile Driver role.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally using a non CDL-A vehicle.
• Load and unload shipments, with or without mechanical equipment.
• Inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after trips; submit Vehicle Condition Report.
• Check shipping papers to determine load and ensure no hazardous materials are present; ensure paperwork accompanies shipment.
• Complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle operations and freight movements.
